One of the most well-known and versatile essential oils, Lavender is a great ingredient for soap making, cosmetics and skin care products, and of course aromatherapy. The vast amount of research done on Lavender essential oil has shown some of the following benefits:
- It has been known to be relaxing and calming, helping relieve stress, irritability, and tension.
- Lavender essential oil has been known to assist with calming the mind to assist with having a good night’s sleep.
- Because of its naturally occurring antioxidant, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties, it has been said to be very beneficial for the skin; including acne and breakouts, but also improve skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, scarring and wrinkles.
- Because of its analgesic properties, Lavender can also provide numbing and pain relief and research has shown that it could be safe to use for all ages and skin types including children and the elderly.
